Our ranges of laminates come in a range of thicknesses.
All Laminates are graded on how durable they are and what area in your house and are also suitable for many commercial areas.
Bedrooms, conservatories, living rooms, and open plan living spaces. When it comes to kitchens, it will depend on your style and type of kitchen, as laminates are made from wood-based products the potential damage from water and other liquids needs to be taken into account.
Laminates generally will have limited water resistance and if any spills and excess water is cleaned and dried, then there should be no issues.
We do not recommend laminates in bathrooms, particularly if there is a walk-in wet room.
Laminate flooring consists to about 90% of wood. Being a natural organic material, wood is always in motion. It’s a common saying that “woodworks”. What this means is the wood expands or contracts (or grows and shrinks) in response to changing temperatures and humidity. So the same thing applies to laminate flooring.
A meter of laminate flooring can undergo dimensional fluctuations of about a millimeter. This is what makes it so important to leave a gap of 10mm where the panels abut walls, door frames, pipes, and so forth. If this isn’t done, the material can suffer damage as a result of buckling, warping, and so on. The tongue-and-groove joints can also suffer, and all this may void the terms of the warranty.
Extra Expansion Joints: Absolutely Essential in Large Rooms
The gap around the edges of the floor, which are camouflaged by skirting boards, doesn’t allow enough play in large rooms. If a room is wider than 8 meters and/or longer than 12 meters, one or more additional expansion joints are needed in the middle.

With Quick transfer underlay, you are sure to reach the top efficiency of your flooring heating system. This low tog (0.35 Togs) underlay is designed for underfloor heating. Thermal resistance is RB=0.035m2K/W which means that the tog rating will be 0.35 togs. It is recommended that the heat transmission resistance of flooring and underlay must not exceed a value of RB= 0.15 m2K/W. This means that the thinner the engineered or laminate floor the better the transfer of heat.
- Comfort Silver offers an economic solution for insulating laminate floors with an integral silver foil vapor control layer. Comfort Silver is produced from closed cell Polyethylene Foam which is CFC and HCFC free and 100% recyclable.
