How many tiles, or how many packs of laminate do you need for your project? Little back-to-school basic, we have a calculator tool to help you. Enter in the dimensions in meters, and the calculator will work this out for you.
Bathrooms, there will be doors, windows, and other areas that may not need to be tiled, or you may only be tiling some of the way up the wall. The calculator tool will help you with this, enter in the obstacles and areas that will not be tiled and they will be subtracted from the main surface area.
The easiest way to calculate is to use square meters, however it can get a little confusing with square yards, square feet etc. Simply convert your imperial measurements to metric, for square yards to square meters, multiply by 1.2.
We recommend allowing 10% waste for cuts, damages and saving a few tiles of the same batch, for any potential repairs in the future. Double-check you do not over measure, on our shop platform, there is the option to add 10% for wastage, and if you have already factored this in, using the calculator.
We will normally try and ship tile orders to the nearest full box, this helps with reducing damages and makes shipping more efficient. So, sometimes you will get some extra individual tiles and do not worry, you will not have been charged for them.
For wood flooring and the range of laminates, we only sell to the full pack due to the nature of the timber-based products and the need for the sealed pack to remain sealed until it reaches its installation and to acclimatise. Our shop platform will automatically calculate the number of packs from the area you have put in. To double-check, when you have calculated the overall area and added up to 10% for waste and cuts, you can divide this by the number of meters per box, which is highlighted on the product page.
It is always a good idea to ask your tiling contractor or builder to double-check your measurements. Remember every house and home is different so it always good practice to double-check your measurements.
